Mark Rowe is an accomplished ethics, compliance and risk management leader. His 30-plus years’ experience blends legal practice, higher education, Big 4 consulting and in-house ethics and compliance (E&C) leadership. He is the founder and principal of Blue Quoin Advisory, an E&C consultancy.
Mark’s professional passion and purpose is to inspire, guide and enable people to bring the best of themselves to work and build trust and business value by doing the right thing. He helps organizations strengthen their ethical culture and risk management capabilities while pursuing their goals with integrity.
Beginning his career as a commercial litigation lawyer in London, Mark’s growing interest in helping companies operate ethically and more sustainably led him to the Hoffman Center for Business Ethics (HCBE) at Bentley University. There, he had the great fortune to work with and learn from HCBE’s founder, Dr. W. Michael Hoffman for more than five years.
Finding that he especially enjoyed the consulting part of his work, Mark spent nine years as an advisory practice leader for two leading E&C training and risk management companies. During six years with Deloitte’s risk advisory practice, Mark advised client companies across multiple industries on building strong ethical cultures, based on shared values, sound governance and leading-practice ethics and compliance programs.
Mark then served as Director of Ethics & Compliance at DXC Technology, an IT services company with 130,000 people in over 70 countries. There he was able to bring the best of what he had seen to be effective at other large global companies to help DXC build a leading program with leading technology.
With Blue Quoin Advisory, Mark draws on his Big 4 consulting and in-house experience to help Chief Ethics & Compliance Officers overcome their most stubborn challenges.
